Handmade tiles

Handmade tiles welcome visitors at the entrance of Felicity’s studio, Potter by the Sea. The tiles were inspired by the animals and plants of the coastal environment.

Tile making process

Tiles are rolled out and sculptural elements are added. When the tiles are dry, colour underglazes and slips are applied. The tiles are bisque fired in a kiln and then a clear glaze is applied and fired again.
